Without a doubt, custom rugs served as a clear throughline in my tenure with Ken Fulk, each thread representing the whispers of our clients’ stories. This was especially important during the pandemic. So, when James Seuss, chief creative officer of The Rug Co. came to call, it felt as if the fates had conspired to to unite us.

Our collection for The Rug Co. emerged during a transformative period that deepened our understanding of the importance of creating spaces that offer solace and sanctuary. Our goal was to not only please the eye but nourish the spirit. Indeed, our designs strove to replace a feeling of entrapment felt by so many with a sense of belonging in a space. Thus, ‘Divine Inspiration’ emerged, its name reflecting the early visions that served as windows into our inner worlds.

Ultimately, the collection incorporates the ancient art of Moroccan tessellations, reimagines the Garden of Eden and explores the intricate patterns revealed through the study of cymatics. Our centerpiece, ‘A Life Reflective,’ is a masterful collage of tiles, each piece customizable with hand-drawn archetypal symbols, allowing clients to narrate their own life stories through design.
